Comments / pictures

Artie, Tonga and her daughter Batir were sold to the North Carolina Zoo in October 2007. They were transported by Eddie Novak and subsequently transitioned to Protected Contact at the new facility. During the transport Skeeter broke off a tusk, which was later surgically removed after a failed repair effort.
