Australia's Joseph Perry (professionally known as Joseph Eroni), b. 1920, was a son and protege of another exponent of the tightwire, George Perry (Eroni), b. 1896 (? 1894?). Travelling Australia in Eroni Bros Circus, about 1914, George had coached young Con Colleano for a season. Con (b. 1899) went on to become the internationally famous "Wizard of the Wire", the greatest exponent of the tightwire ever. Although Joseph Perry, seen here, was a heavier build than Con, the similarities between their respective style, footwork and somersaulting technique is easily apparent.
