Biography

Pupy (Pupi) is a living Female ♀ African savanna elephant (Loxodonta africana) , located at the Buenos Aires Zoo, in Argentina.

Pupy (Pupi) arrived in 1993-05-00 to the Buenos Aires Zoo, relocated from the Port of Buenos Aires, in Argentina.

In Buenos Aires Zoo, Pupy (Pupi) lives as single living elephant at this location

Pupy (Pupi) was born wild 1990? at Kruger National Park.

For more than three decades she was accompanied by Kuky, another African elephant with whom she arrived in Buenos Aires from Kruger National Park, South Africa, in May 1993. She was her "sister." Although there is no precise date of birth, specialists estimate that both animals were born in 1990.

In fact, they arrived in the country under other names. They were called Araceli and Lucila . This was decided in a survey after the purchase of both specimens by the company Paseo Alcorta, which donated them to the Buenos Aires zoo.
