Adi Enders was born Adolf Hermann Enders on April 16, 1935 in Cologne. Adi grew up under the care of his aunt Maria Althoff and her husband Adolf Althoff, a circus director and animal trainer.

Together with his brother Jakob Enders, as the Gebrüder Enders (The Enders Brothers), he crafted equestrian acts.

1957: Paris crowned Adi with the prestigious "Oscar Mondial du Cirque" for his jockey artistry.

1984: Prix Jean-Louis Marsan at the International Circus Festival of Monte Carlo for his elephants and rhino act.

Adi Enders

After retiring from performing in 1995, Adi settled at the Zoo-Safaripark Stukenbrock in Germany, where he continued to care for his beloved Williams-Althoff elephants.
