  1. 2022-08-17: mahout Supachai Wongfaed fatal attack by Pom Pam. Upon arriving at the scene, the officers were informed that Pom Pam, a 20-year-old male elephant, had ripped apart his keeper, 32-year-old Supachai Wongfaed, at the plantation. Wongfaed's corpse was reportedly found lying in a pool of blood with Pom Pam standing over it, according to NextShark. Local police told The Thaiger that the elephant had stabbed the man with its tusks several times before ripping his body in half. † Supachai Wongfaed Died 2022-08-17

Comments / picturesThe sanctuary is in Pakarang close to the beach about 20 minutes from Khao Lak and Bang Niang. Drive past Khuk Khak and the gas station and look out for the small dirt road with the sign to Memories Bar. Turn onto the dirt road and follow it until you reach the Elephant Home on your right.
