Comments / picturesDuring 1650, 1668 and 1692, elephants were exhibited on the annual Leipziger Messe, which may have been the first elephants in Germany, after Charlemagnes elephant.

2020: All Asian elephants in Berlin Zoo were relocated to Leipzig Zoo, and renovation of elephant facilities were initiated.

2022; Pantha and Thuza (full sisters out of Ankhor and Kewa) are both confirmed pregnant at Leipzig, and due in late 2022/early 2023. Sire is Voi Nam (Mekong x Trinh).
