1967-11-11: John Ringling North sold the RBBB circus to Israel and Irvin Feld, who wanted to create a second unit, and needed a star to promote it. Gunther Gebel-Williams was star in europe on Circus Wiilliams, and Field managed to hire Gunther and the entire Circus Wiilliams for two million dollars for a four-year renewable contract.
1968: Together with 5 elephants bought from Chipperfield Circus for the European tour, came 13 elephants with Circus Wiilliams, those 18 elephants and the entire Circus Wiilliams famed the new developed Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus Red Unit (1969 - present). The original elephant Herd were then labelled as Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus Blue Unit.
1969: Red Unit stable line, 17 elephants: 16 Asians Welis, Puppe, Gita (C), Rani (C), Siam, Nellie, Tichi, Mary, Talia, Suzie (C), Mai (C), Jennie (C), Assan, Banana, Sara, Baby and 1 African elephant Congo. (C=from Circus Chipperfield) //Moreau
1970: Gunthers and Sigrids son Oliver (Buffy) Gebel was born 17 August 1970. Oliver Gebel married Cristina Moraru, and they have the sons, Adam and Hunter Gebel. Jeanette Williams later married aerialist Elvin Bale, and they have the son Pinky Bale.
1976: Gunther became american citizen.
1990-11-18: Gunther retired from Circus, and would only make two returns.
1996: Gunther had to undergo heart surgery.
1998-09-27: Gunther made his last performance on circus, replacing his son, Mark Oliver, to allow him to be present at the birth of his own son.
2000: Gunther had to undergo removal of a brain tumor, and started chemo therapy.
2001-07-19: Gunther Gebel-Williams died in Venice, Florida, USA (cancer)
2004: Mark Gebel left RBBB circus.
