Comments / pictures

Nong Mai very recently gave birth to her first calf. A BOY! In the nearby jungle on 07-10-2009. The closest Elephant vet was over an hour away so it was upto the Mahouts to take care of Nog Mai and her calf. They did an outstanding job! Nongmai and her baby un-announced at the park. She walked right up to her mother (Mae Boonma) to introduce her new baby. Mae Boonma and the new baby bonded instantly. Nong Mai and her calf have been provided with a area of their own inside the park.
