Marion Fossett, daughter of circus king Teddy Fossett, continues to tour with the show and is Ireland’s most famous Ringmistress. In addition to a decades-long career in the Big Top, Marion also represented Ireland in the 1981 Eurovision Song Contest.

"She says there exists somewhere a photograph of her at 18 months of age being brought into the circus in a basket by an elephant. There is also a photograph of her at the age of five at the circus with three elephants. I was standing on the leg of an elephant! I remember doing the Dublin parade with an elephant called Cindy, and in one of our floats, we had camels in the parade in Kildare".
