Walter Kaden , circus elephant trainer in Germany

Kaden was born * in Germany .

The Circus Carl Hagenbeck-Stellingen arrived to the Montevideo port, Uruguay, with the ship Paraguay the 4 December of 1936, proceeding of Hamburg, Germany. During the trip a storm took the ship and several vehicles was damaged. The circus début was the 11 December in the Rodo Park, Montevideo city, then to Buenos Aires, Argentina, realizing an important tour along the country in 1937. The circus owner was Lorenz Hagenbeck, youngest son of Carl. Some names: Rudolph Mathies and his tigers, Walter Kaden´s elephants, Erich Hagenbeck seven seals, The Zemmganos, Lulu Gautier, and more.

Circus Hagenbeck's second unit with Walter Kaden in charge of the elephants toured Montevideo in Uruguay from december 1936, then to Buenos Aires, Argentina, and realizing an important tour along the country in 1937, after which Hagenbecks Circus returned to Europe and took up winter quarters in Hagenbecks Viennese circus building in Austria. By then, the circus still had twenty elephants when the last tour in peace time was ended at the Bremen fair.
