1978-03-11: elephant keeper David Farr fatal attack by Joyce. Several dozen bystanders looked on in horror as the enraged elephant hurled David Farr, 35 years old, off her knee and kicked him into a pillar. † David Farr Died 1978-03-11
1993: elephant trainer Roy Wells attacked by Billie. Roy Wells Survived. Wells was attacked twice by Asian elephant Billie who were transferred to "retired/hands off" after the second attempt in 1993. Protected Contact?
1994-08-20: elephant keeper Dallas Beckwith attacked by Tyke. during a performance at the Neal S. Blaisdell Center, she killed her trainer, Allen Campbell, and seriously injured her groomer, Dallas Beckwith. Dallas Beckwith Survived. Tyke then ran from the arena and through the streets of the Kakaako central business district for more than thirty minutes. Unable to calm the elephant, local police opened fire on the animal, who collapsed from the wounds and died.
