Born 1937 in Germany dead 2017 in United States , daughter of animal trainer Walter Klauser and animal trainer Maria Klauser .

A famous bear troupe that started in the 1950s was the "Klauser's Bears", by the German-born Klauser family, Walter, Maria, and their daughter "Goldilocks" Herta. The Klauser family toured the world with their bears riding bicycles and motorbikes, rowing boats, and of course roller skating. The Klauser's Bears were popular in the US, appearing in the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus and being featured several times in the Ed Sullivan Show in the 1950s, and in the Shrine Circus until (at least) the 1970s.

Born Herta Klauser in Munich, Germany, Herta was born into a circus family where she developed her love for animals and the circus ring. Known as ‘Goldie Locks’, Herta worked the family circus act, ‘The Klauser Bears’, and became one of the greatest bear trainers of her time.

Herta went on to perform in the center ring with the world famous Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus, Germany’s Circus Krone, and many others, entertaining millions around the globe. She appeared several times on TV programs including the Ed Sullivan Show.

Herta’s love of the arts and her philanthropic generosity was unending. Herta, along with herformer husband, John F. Cuneo Jr., was the Vice President of The Cuneo Foundation.
