Barnum and London Circus, United States , was founded in 1881 and the first elephant arrived in 1881. The last elephant left in 1885. Barnum and London Circus closed down in 1885.

  1. 1885: elephant keeper James Sweeney fatal attack by Albert. Asiatic elephant, Albert, killed his keeper, James Sweeney, at Nashua, New Hampshire † James Sweeney Died 1885, Nashua, New Hampshire. The animal was taken to a ravine and shot.

1881-1885: Elephant boss: George Arstingstall.

1883-02-10: 28 elephants: 3 small elephants arrive from Hamburg making a Herd of 28. Chief and Hebe copulated on 6th, 8th, and 10th.Henry Bowser, P. T. Barnums personal secretary

Barnum and Bailey split up again in 1885, but came back together in 1888 with the "Barnum & Bailey Greatest Show On Earth", later "Barnum & Bailey Circus",
