Circus Gatini, in Quebec, Canada , was founded in 1971 and the first elephant arrived in 1971. The last elephant left in 1979. Circus Gatini closed down in 1979.

1978-05-05: animal trainer Eloise Berchtold fatal attack by Teak (Rajah). after she apparently slipped and fell during the Gatini Circus performance † Eloise Berchtold Died 1978-05-05, Gatini Circus in Quebec. Teak, had been trained by Berry and Berchtold on the farm in Cowlitz County. Teak was immediately killed by the veterinarian at the circus. Morgan Berry spread her ashes on the farm.
