Comments / pictures

Named Tonya, after Ton Dorresteyn, who left as Director for Rotterdam Zoo in February 2009.

2012-05: Pregnant Douanita and her youngest daughter Tanya were transferred together from the Netherlands to the Czech Republic in May 2012 due to compatibility issues between Douanita and other Rotterdam females.

2013-12: Tonya died with EEHV specific symptoms. Tonya originates from the Rotterdam Herd and already lost two brothers on EEHV (Willi and Senang); all offspring of Alexander.

2014-3-23: Tonya did not die from herpes virus. Virus was non-detectable by PCR. Pathologists are still researching her tissues.
