Ali is a living Female ♀ African savanna elephant (Loxodonta africana) , located at the Shoushan Zoo, in Taiwan.

Ali was born wild 1971, captured 1973 .
In November 1977, the Los Angeles Zoo acquired four six year old female African elephants from Jurgen Schulz. In 1979, Jospehine and Lolly were sold together to the Shoushan Zoo, Taiwan. Sage was euthanized in May 1984. McClean died of self-inflicted injuries in March 186. In Taiwan, the two calves were mistaken for a male and female, not to be discovered until 2007. In 2002, a "wedding" was held for the two. Ali weighed five tonnes and was larger, stronger and more violent than the Annie.
