Amy is the star of the book The Cowboy and His Elephant by Malcolm MacPherson. She had been originally trained by Army Maguire for Buckles Woodcock.

2017-12-12: Zoo officials said Amy was euthanized humanely Monday after nearly two years of medical treatment in an effort to repair a torn ligament in her right elbow. Despite the treatments, her health had declined rapidly.
