Tim Hendrickson sold both of his elephants, Bette and Kallie, to the Philadelphia Zoo in April 2004. They were later slated to be transferred to the Pittsburgh Zoo's new breeding facility with a third African elephant Petal. Petal died in June 2008, and the two cows were moved across Pennsylvania thirteen months later.
