Comments / pictures
The Circus Gasser-Olympia emerged from one of the five great circus dynasties in Switzerland: the Gasser dynasty.
Heinrich Gasser
, born in 1880, delighted audiences as an acrobat throughout Europe. His son
Dominik Gasser Sr.
still performed outdoors in the arena as a tightrope walker and acrobat on the mast
. The first tent was bought in 1949 and since then people have traveled under the name Circus Olympia. His son
Dominik Gasser Jr.
took over the company in 1974, which in turn was taken over by his son
Dominik Gasser III
. , born in 1953, and is still managed today.
