Knowsley Safari Park, located at Prescot, in Merseyside, United Kingdom , was founded in 1971 and the first elephant arrived in 1973.

Female elephants are kept in free contact, the young bull in protected contact.

The elephant keepers do not chain the elephants and do not use an Ankus.

Knowsley Safari Park believes in giving the elephants as much space as possible and allowing them to behave as naturally as possible, doing what elephants like to do; Graze in a 12-acre plus paddock, wallow in the mud, swim in the pool, mud up or dust up on the sand yard.
