Comments / picturesThe sanctuary was setup in 2019 foothills of Kulen Mountain, in the Bos Thom Community Forest, to receive the elephants from Angkor Elephants Company, after it was decided to stop with riding operations at the Ankor Wat and nearby temples.

Sambann, assisted by Elephant Manager Dan Koehl, was the first elephant to set her foot on the ground in Bos Thom Village 2019, where she was greeted welcome by local children.
