Comments / pictures1946: Five of six elephants, the first to be imported since before the war, arrived here from India this week. The sixth bull died en route due to excessive heat. (4 to Bob Stevens, Baileys Bros Cicus, 1 to animal trainer Will Hill)

1947: 22 elephants? (see below)

1948: Harry Rimberg, who imported the first elephants after the war, and his accociate, Jack Fox, plan no additional imports. Last year Rimberg brought in 22 pachyderms. He and Fox have eight of these, which they plan to lease, but not sell.
