Ongard has moved to America to join their breeding program where his genes will provide important diversity to the Asian Elephant species survival breeding network.

Ongard was brought out to America by San Diego Zoo but is on a breeding loan to Zoo Miami where they are preparing to increase the size of their breeding program.

Ongard will also contribute to the North American breeding program via artificial insemination.
