Female LA Beira, according to your data base born in 1949 in Mozambique, was born in 1950 in Tanzania according to information provided by Basel Zoo. She died on 28. 05. 1998, at age 48 due to arthrosis. She had arrived at Basel on 04.11.1952 (your data base says 1953-00-00) from Hagenbeck. As I recall it she was of about the same size as Ruaha and Idunda, i.e. year of birth 1950 is more likely than 1949. Regarding her origin, I always believed she was from Mozambique.
