Asian elephant (Elephas maximus) at
Mathigodu elephant Camp in India

Gopalaswamy was born wild 1980 at Sakaleshpura forest, captured 2009 .

The Tusker was captured at Sakleshpur of Hassan district in the year 2009.

2022-11-22: On Tuesday, November 22, Gopalaswamy had gone for grazing in Mathigodu elephant Camp at Nagarahole National Park. During this time, it was attacked by a Herd of elephants and was injured.

2022-11-23: died of the injuries. It had participated in the world-famous Mysuru Dasara for the past eight years.
