Borg was born * in Stockholm Sweden Stockholm, in Sweden , son of elephant head-keeper Sven Borg .

Being present with his father at Skansen Zoo from early years, Sven-Arne was a favorite of the elephant Bambina, who practically adopted him, being likewise obedient, so even as a child he could lead Bambina through large crowds of public visitors at the zoo, or ride Bambina when she was making rides for children.
