Basil Steyn is owner of Sondelani Game Lodge in West Nicholson and the company Elephant Experience in Victoria Falls, where 15 elephants which were trained 2002-2006 at Sondelani, are operated for tourist rides. Seven elephants from this heard were walked over the bridge to Zambia, and are now located at Mukuni Big 5 Safaris in Livingstone.

Since Mr Steyn started to keep and train captive african elephants, he succeded to get at least six births from his elephants, which probably is a record by a privat african elephant owner.
