Steve Edmunds , zoo elephant head-keeper in Australia . Steve grew up on farms and had worked with dolphins at Atlantis in Yanchep and seals at Taronga Zoo. He remembered being a little boy, gazing in at Tricia from the outside. He never imagined he might get to know this incredible animal. It seemed too good to be true and it almost was; they gave the job to someone else. “I guess you could say I was persistent,” Steve admits. “I just kept on harassing the bloke and when the first person they hired didn’t work out, I got the job.” Perth Zoo elephant keepers Claire Holland and Steve Edmunds with Tricia who is set to celebrate her 60th birthday.
