Tom Mix is best remembered as an icon of the Hollywood Westerns of the early 20th century, but he got his start on the Miller Bros. 101 Ranch Wild West as a skilled horseman and expert shot. After a long career in film, Mix returned to traveling entertainments, touring first with the Sells-Floto Circus. 1934: Tom Mix purchased an interest in the Samuel B. Dill Circus and changed its name to the Sam B. Dill Circus and Tom Mix Wild West Show. 1935: After Sam Dill died 1935, the name was changed to Tom Mix Circus, and Tom Mix was taking out his own Tom Mix Circus from 1935 to 1938. Tom toured through America, Canada and Mexico. 1938: After floundering in Oklahoma and Texas it closed in Pecos, Texas on September 10.
