Peter Ryhiner was born in 1920 in Basel, Switzerland.
He imported Basel Zoo first Asian rhinos, and travelled around the world, capturing animals.
His business suffered a downfall in the seventies, and after a unsuccesful try as safari giude in Kenya, he died 1975 in the psychatric clinic, Prefargier, Switzerland.
