2018: Days after 10 elephants arrived in Dudhwa Tiger Reserve in Lakhimpur Kheri district from Karnataka, principal chief conservator of forest (wildlife) (PCCF) SK Upadhyay approved a proposal to provide four of these pachyderms to Pilibhit Tiger Reserve (PTR).

Divisional forest officer of PTR Kailash Prakash said the department had erected sheds with necessary facilities to house the elephants in Mala forest range.
