Bloat and constipation occur primarily due to unsuitable food with too high a fiber content, and cases occur most often during the dry season. Soapy warm water enemas are given as treatment. Bloat is also treated with antiflatulen (Tympasol®, Bremer Pharma GMBH, Germany) orally. For an Adult elephant 300 ml of Tympasol® mixed with 3 liters of warm water is given. Vitamin B complex may be given as supportive treatment.
