A newborn elephant calf at Bengaluru Bannerghatta Biological Park (BBBP) has been named after Padma Shri recipient Tulsi Gowda, who has planted over one lakh trees.

The female calfTulsi, a new member to the BBP family, was born on January 30 to the 13-year-old elephant Vanashree. Both mother and calf are doing well.
