EEG state death date 1968-04-12.

Roma was rejected by her mother, and heandreared by the elephant keepers, after the biologist, later director of Rome Zoo, Ermanno Bronzini, researched hand rearing and had the milk from Giulietta analyzed. This was probably the first succesful Handrearing ever, of a zoo born elephant, although infant elephant babies had been hand reared in Africa and probably Asia, before.
