Hussein was born wild 1972 at Nagarhole National Park, captured 1974? . and imported 1987 by Firma Carl Hagenbeck, Air cargo (Lufthansa?)

Probably named after commander during Third Anglo–Mysore War (1790–1792), Hussein Ali Khan Sahib.

Hussein was bound to be transfered to Belgium Zoo 2012, but died shortly after entering the transport crater.
