Maya
Asian elephant (Elephas maximus) at
San Diego Zoo in United States

Maya was born wild 1940, captured 1940 .

In August 1941, the San Diego Zoo imported two Asian cows from the Alipore Zoo in West Bengal India. Maya and Lucki resided together until Lucki's death in August 1988. Maya would only live for another thirty months, passing away at the age of fifty.
