In February 2005, Bentley Brothers Circus sold their two elephants, Bertie Mae and Valerie, to Six Flags Discovery Kingdom.

Bertie Mae is a female Asian elephant. She was born in 1980 in India. She came to Discovery Kingdom in 2005 along with her pal, African elephant Valerie. Bertie's favorite treat is jelly beans. You may find her in the pool area, as she enjoys bathing. SFDK Elephant Encounter Information Display
