Jack was born wild .
Jack came from menagerie Cornelis van Aken and was the first elephant of Artis. Difficault to handle, and destrying his enclosure and escaping on several occasions, he was finally shot during his last escape by a Policeman. His Skeleton is exhibited at the Groote museum.
