First Tanya of Jenda Smaha?

A Charlestown, South Carolina, news article ("Elephant Steals Vegas Show," The News and Courier, 01/03/1971, p 6-C) states the year and half old Tanya was selected from a Group of babies imported from Bangkok in 1965. The article gives her current age as seven.

No circus would be complete without the name Bannaford appearing on the
program. This year it was George Hanneford, Jr.'s turn to perform his many feature acts. In addition to his great riding act, he also presented the elephant "Tanya" which he recently purchased from Jenda Smaha.
