Yulia, the elephant, gave birth to a calf in Way Kambas National Park (TNWK) in East Lampung. Currently, the total population of domesticated elephants is 60.

The female calf was born on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at approximately 11:25 PM WIB. She is the first calf of 12-year-old Yulia.

The Head of the TNWK Center, Zaidi, stated that Yulia and her calf are healthy. The calf is estimated to weigh 64 kilograms.

"Thank God, Yulia and her calf are healthy. The calf even stood up and took steps at 2:05 AM WIB, as if eager to welcome the world," he said.

Zaidi added that as of Saturday, December 6, 2025, the unnamed calf was still learning to breastfeed with the help of a team of veterinarians and a Mahout.
