| 2008: In September 2008, the Houston Zoo purchased Tess and her son Tucker from Have Trunk Will Travel in Calfornia. 2010: In February 2010, the Houston Zoo announced that two of its female elephants were pregnant. Shanti was due to give birth in the spring and Tess in the fall, both impregnated naturally by the zoo's breeding bull, Thai. 2018-05-11: Tess pregnant, due this summer Sources, among others
