2023-12-16: Toyohashi Zoo and Botanical Gardens (Nonhoi Park)'s Asian elephant "Asha" (estimated age 40) gave birth to a male baby "Raja" who died suddenly on the morning of the 14th at Ichihara Elephant Kingdom in Chiba Prefecture where he was kept. He was 1 year and 1 month old
