2016-12-07: Field staff spotted the elephant in the middle of a waterbody at Bitta Katte in Dodda Harave reserve forest in Periyapatna range, bordering Kodagu district, on Wednesday morning.

2016-12-08: At 6am, foresters sent Krishna, a jumbo from Mattigodu elephant camp in Nagarahole, to the spot. By that time, the female elephant was dead, and the carcass was floating
