Kolding elephant was born wild at Europe unspecified location.
The lower jaw was found during excavations for the building of a highway, in 1972 in Harte, Kolding. In 1973 the other part of the jaw was found at Højrup, 20 km away from the first location, to where it was probably moved with sand masses.
