Edward Henry Augustus Bostock , circus assistant director in United Kingdom

Born 1882-06-04 in France dead 1943-08-05 in United Kingdom , son of director Edward Bostock .


1915-04: Two of my 4 sons are in the Army: My second son, Alexander Gordon Bostock, who has been in charge of the Ipswich Hippodrome has joined up. And was followed shortly after by my eldest son Gus, Edward Henry Augustus Bostock, who is my assistant and right-hand in Glasgow.




Educated at Dollar Academy, Perthshire.
Served in the R.A.S.C. in World War I, and in the Home Guard in World war II.
He was awarded a medal for capturing a thief single-handed.
After a period of managing his father's business he became chairman and director of Bostock's Entertainments Circuit, Glasgow.
A Rotarian.
Known as "Gus".
