  1. 2017-08-28: elephant keeper Robert Stehr attacked by Hoa. While the crew were taking the elephants outside, Stehr stumbled and fell, and Hoa kicked him with a leg. Robert Stehr Survived. Stehr could leave hospital the same day, but left his work as elephant keeper. Leipzig Zoo transferred elephants to Protected Contact

Comments / picturesDuring 1650, 1668, and 1692, elephants were exhibited on the annual Leipziger Messe, which may have been the first elephants in Germany, after Charlemagne\'s elephant.

2017: accident with head keeper Robert Stehr

2020: All Asian elephants in Berlin Zoo were relocated to Leipzig Zoo, and renovation of elephant facilities was initiated.

2022; Pantha and Thuza (full sisters out of Ankhor and Kewa) are both confirmed pregnant at Leipzig and due in late 2022/early 2023. Sire is Voi Nam (Mekong x Trinh).

2023: all elephants transferred to PC.
