1958: Gopalan Mulloli started his own mini circus in a small town Zeera in Punjab. His circus was named after his son, Raj, and his wife, Kamala, by combining their names into Rajkamal.
2010: lorry driver Aneesh (26) of Kilikoolloor, Kollam, lorry cleaner Kanakaraj (47) of Karunagapally, Kollam and
Mahout
Nissam of Patna, Bihar, were arrested for transporting two elephants of Rajkamal circus company violating rules.
The police said that they transported two elephants in a lorry from Kollam to Perinthalmanna without any security measures. It was Nishad Panthrandil, a member of Road Safety Force, a club of youngsters functioning in Ambalappuzha, who informed police.
Heritage Animals Task Force secretary V K Venkitachalam said that they transported elephants violating various rules such as the Wildlife Protection Act 1972, Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act 1960, Declaration of Wildlife Stock Rules 2003 and the Kerala Captive Elephant (Management and Maintenance) Rules 2003.
