Comments / picturesVice Admiral Andreas du Plessis de Richelieu (1852 - 1932) was stationed in Siam on behalf of king Christian IX of Denmark, and king King Chulalongkorn of Thailand. He became the first and only foreign commander-in-chief of the Royal Thai Navy, from January 16, 1900 to January 29, 1901. he returned to Denmark in 1902 because of malaria.
