  1. 2007-03-10: animal trainer Erwin Frankello Jr. attacked by Moritz. during feeding grabbed Frank and pushed him into a wall, then tusked him in the stomach with one tusk. Erwin Frankello Jr. Survived. severe inner injuries, long and intensive operation at hospital, where he had to stay during several months. Moritz was transferred to Protected Contact.

Although the elephants now and then are engaged in shows and some circus, this facility is classed as a Zoo, and maintain a very good standard of elephant managment. It is probably the only location within its category in Europe, with breeding potentials.
