Twycross, no elephants hit with bambo, bambo is sometimes used as food. herpes cases within the Herd (calf died in 2011) and a very remote location where they obviously had problems of atracting experienced keepers. One experienced headkeeper worked alone long time, at the same time the veterinarians had problems of curing severe foot abcesses. 3 younger keeper employed less than 2 years ago. The zoo did not send them to the elephant managers school. Stillborn herpes calf in march. Employed a teamleader who had less experience, but with PC, in summer. She tried to pressure the keepers to train her in Free Contact, they refused, thought its was enough confusion, probably a good choice, but she was pissed. Section head moved her from elephants. Elephant headkeeper finally took vacation after 2 years. Vetrinarians made comments and put pressure on the fresh keepers, who had to do very intensive foot care work because of the abcesses, and working long time in a row with no free days. As you know, Its always easy to stand outside the fence and point at people, and complain. But it was not the new keepers fault that they were young, and that the zoo didnt educate them or managed to get more experienced people? Meanwhile the new teamleder (biologists) is pissed because shes not with the elephants. Two elephants fight a lot. One day elephants make a lot of problem, and the young keepers feel unsecure, they punish. No marks next day, but three women looking on the film, call the police, and the zoo is on fire. Keepers sacked, and arrested, headkeeper still on vacation. Zoo change to PC, is that wise in a situation where breeding has been focus, with herpes, and severe foot abcesses. Now biologists teamleder comes back and start train elephants in PC, in victory, now shes princess of the elephants.
3 young boys in arrest, after pretty undramatic punishment, but veterinary (who suddenly is expert on FC training, but he never went in and helped the young guys?) says its was disgusting. Wonder what he thinks about the two elephants fighting?
Revenge taste sweet for at least one, probably three woman. Jelousy has no limits. The hedkeeper that rturned from vacation is now suddenly hedkeeper of three elephants she has fight so much for, but now shes not aloud to go into them.
3 young lads sit and wonder what their future will be.
